Which dehumidifier fits your tent?
Duct-connected (closed loop)
The AC Infinity HYDRONE models sit outside or next to the tent and connect to it with ducting. They dry the tent air without mixing it with the room air. The trade-off: according to AC Infinity they draw 209 to 610 W, which adds heat you have to remove with your ventilation.
Standalone room dehumidifiers
The hOmeLabs, Midea and Frigidaire models are classic compressor dehumidifiers. In a 3x3 or 4x4 tent you place them inside on the floor or in the room right next to the tent. With a drain hose they run around the clock without emptying the bucket.
How many pints per day?
A 2x2 or 3x3 tent usually gets by with a small unit, a 4x4 tent in late flowering needs more. How to size it for your plants and room is explained in our dehumidifier for grow tent guide.
Grow tent dehumidifiers: all specs compared
Technical specs from the manufacturers' websites or their own Amazon listings (as of October 4, 2026). Compressor capacities are stated at 80°F/60% RH (DOE 2019 test standard); AC Infinity states a "real-world draw rate" in liters per day, which the manufacturer says is not directly comparable to compressor ratings. "n/a" means the manufacturer does not publish that value.

Each grow tent dehumidifier in detail
1. AC Infinity HYDRONE 7 – the dehumidifier built for grow tents
The HYDRONE 7 is the only model here with built-in humidity and VPD control and two 6" duct ports, so it dries the tent air in a closed loop without pulling in room air. AC Infinity rates it for 4–6 plants with a real-world draw rate of 8 liters per day and 10 drying levels. A gravity drain hose is included, and the 2-liter reservoir works as a backup. Plan for the heat: the manufacturer states 235 to 610 W.
- Duct ports for a closed loop with the tent
- Built-in humidity and VPD control, app
- Drain hose included
- Up to 610 W adds heat to the tent
- Highest price class, noise level not stated
2. hOmeLabs 8 Pint – compact compressor unit for 2x2 and 3x3 tents
A small compressor dehumidifier that removes 8 pints per day at 80°F and 60% RH (up to 24 pints at 95°F and 90% RH, per hOmeLabs). You set the target humidity in the app or on the unit, it runs at 38 dB and comes with a 3.3 ft drain hose for continuous drainage. For 2x2 and 3x3 tents it is the most affordable model here with a humidity setting.
- Adjustable humidity and WiFi app
- Quiet at 38 dB
- Drain hose included
- Too small for a 4x4 tent in late flowering
- No duct connection, takes up floor space
3. AC Infinity HYDRONE 5 – tent design for small grows
The smaller HYDRONE has the same duct ports and 10 drying levels, rated for 2–3 plants with a real-world draw rate of 4 liters per day and 209 to 350 W. It has no humidity control of its own: for automatic operation you need an AC Infinity controller. A drain hose is included.
- Closed loop with the tent via duct ports
- Lowest price class in this comparison
- Humidity control only with a separate controller
- Up to 350 W adds heat
4. hOmeLabs 25 Pint – more capacity for 4x4 tents
The larger hOmeLabs removes 25 pints per day at 80°F and 60% RH (64 pints at 95°F and 90% RH). Humidity is adjustable in the app, and the included drain hose allows continuous drainage. Good for a 4x4 tent in late flowering or for drying in the same room.
- Highest compressor capacity here
- Drain hose included, WiFi app
- Noise level not stated
- Higher price class
5. Midea 22 Pint – Energy Star with a wide humidity range
An Energy Star compressor unit that removes 22 pints per day. You can set the humidity from 35 to 85 %, which covers drying and curing targets, and Midea states 47 dBA. Continuous drainage works with a standard garden hose, but the hose is not included.
- Humidity adjustable from 35 to 85 %
- Energy Star, WiFi
- Drain hose not included
- Louder than the hOmeLabs 8 pint (47 dBA)
6. Frigidaire 22 Pint – Energy Star with app control
Frigidaire's 22-pint unit is Energy Star certified, connects to an app and to Alexa or Google Home, and lets you choose between emptying the bucket and continuous drainage. The Amazon listing does not list a drain hose as included, and the noise level is not stated.
- Energy Star, app and smart speaker control
- Bucket or continuous drain
- Drain hose not listed as included
- Noise level not stated
How to choose the best dehumidifier for a grow tent
Capacity for your tent
Compressor units are rated in pints per day at 80°F and 60% RH. A small unit is enough for a 2x2 or 3x3 tent; a 4x4 tent in late flowering needs more. Our dehumidifier sizing guide walks you through it.
A humidity setting
Without a humidity setting the unit simply runs until the bucket is full. Choose a model that switches off at your target. Typical targets are explained in our guide to cannabis humidity levels.
Continuous drainage
In flowering a dehumidifier can fill its bucket in a day. A drain hose into a floor drain or a container lets it run without you. Check whether the hose is included: Midea and Frigidaire do not list one.
Heat and airflow
Every dehumidifier releases heat. Pair it with a ventilation kit so warm, dry air leaves the tent; our grow tent ventilation kit comparison shows suitable fans for 2x2 to 4x4 tents.
How we compared the grow tent dehumidifiers
This comparison is based on manufacturer specifications from Amazon US listings and the manufacturers' websites (October 2026), not a hands-on test: we did not run the units ourselves or measure capacity or noise. We checked availability on Amazon.com for a US delivery address and ranked the models by tent fit, humidity control, drainage, capacity and price, with at most two models per brand. Not included: Pro Breeze (only drain hose accessories found on Amazon.com), Ivation (desiccant units instead of compressor units in the sizes we looked at), and Vremi, Eva-Dry, Keystone, TOSOT and Meaco (no matching model found on Amazon.com).
Grow tent dehumidifier FAQ
What is the best dehumidifier for a grow tent?
In our comparison, the AC Infinity HYDRONE 7 is the best overall pick: it connects to the tent with ducting, has built-in humidity and VPD control and includes a drain hose. If you want a simpler, more affordable unit for a 2x2 or 3x3 tent, the hOmeLabs 8 pint is the best value.
Where is the best place to buy a grow tent dehumidifier?
All six models are available on Amazon.com, most of them sold by the brand itself or by Amazon. Check in the listing whether a drain hose is included and which humidity range you can set, because these differ the most.
How many pints per day do I need for a 4x4 ft grow tent?
For a 4x4 tent in late flowering, a compressor unit in the 20 to 25 pints per day class (at 80°F and 60% RH) is a good fit, such as the hOmeLabs 25 pint or one of the 22-pint models. The exact need depends on plant size, watering and room humidity; our sizing guide explains how to estimate it.
Duct-connected or standalone: which dehumidifier fits my tent?
A duct-connected unit like the AC Infinity HYDRONE dries the tent air in a closed loop and leaves the room air alone. A standalone compressor unit is simpler and cheaper: you place it in the tent or in the room next to it. Both types work, as long as the humidity setting and drainage fit your setup.
Does a grow tent dehumidifier need a continuous drain?
It is strongly recommended. In flowering the bucket can fill within a day, and a full bucket switches the unit off. With a drain hose it keeps running; Midea and Frigidaire need a hose you buy separately.
Compressor or Peltier dehumidifier for a grow tent?
Small Peltier (thermoelectric) units remove only a fraction of a pint per day and are too weak for a flowering tent. Compressor units like the hOmeLabs, Midea and Frigidaire models are the standard choice. AC Infinity's HYDRONE models use their own rotary motor design, which the manufacturer says is not directly comparable to compressor ratings.
